Following the success of Made in Vietnam Lean Management 5S training programs at businesses and organizations during the past 10 years, GKM Lean Management Institute continues to open the program ” Made in Vietnam Lean Management 5S “on July 23, 2022. The program had the participation of CEOs, senior managers, middle managers from enterprises such as Windtech TSC, TFV Forklift, Bac Ninh CTN Construction and Design Consulting Company, Development Consulting Company, FNC Food and Nutrition Development, etc.

According to Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Dang Minh, founding president of GKM Lean Management Institute, Japan’s 5S method has been deployed in many countries, however, to successfully apply and maintain it for a long time, there are many few countries have been able to achieve. The main reason why the countries are fail to apply it is lack a foundary management model that is consistent with the management practices of their own countries. Countries that want to successfully deploy must research and develop a suitable model for themselves. The proof for this is the case of Singapore, they have researched and developed a model in accordance with Singapore practice (Made in Singapore 5S). Vietnam too, we also need to creatively apply 5S to Vietnamese practice, and need to create a model suitable for Vietnam’s characteristics.
Stemming from the above international experience, inheriting the quintessential values of Japan 5S, the model of “Made in Vietnam Lean Management 5S” has been researched, developed and transferred by Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Dang Minh . successfully for many years. This is a tectonic model on the foundation of Made in Vietnam Lean Management Thinking technology, helping Vietnamese businesses and organizations to immediately and effectively apply it in practice. The model has also been registered for intellectual property in Vietnam and internationally.
At the training program, most of the entrepreneurs were very interested in the difference and effectiveness and practicality of the “Made in Vietnam Lean Management 5S” Model. The model has completely solved the existing problems related to how to effectively deploy and maintain 5S at production and business sites.
Ms. Le Huong, manager of Windtech TSC, said: “I personally have been exposed to 5S and Kaizen a lot, but Mr. Minh’s Made in Vietnam 5S content has really made a difference.”
A middle-level leader of Windtech company shared: “Before, I only heard about 5S but didn’t know what 5S specifically is and how to apply it. Today I am aware a lot about how to select, arrange, and how to apply suitable for Vietnamese businesses. I will train everyone in the company to better implement Made in Vietnam 5S.”
Ms. Dao Kieu Loan, Director of Bac Ninh CTN Construction and Design Consulting Company shared: “In the construction factory, there are many types of machines with many different functions, when looking for tools, tools are not available no ones know where it is, affecting work productivity. After today’s 5S session, I had a scientific solution and a theoretical basis to train the employees in the company.”
Ms. Pham Thanh Thuy, Sales Director of FNC Nutrition and Food Development Consulting Company, expressed her enthusiasm: “Japan’s 5S model is a pyramid, but Vietnam’s is a 5S vortex, with Tam The is the center, the more you do it, the more elite it becomes, there is no end point.”
Especially in this Made in Vietnam 5S course, the students not only learned knowledge and skills, but entrepreneurs also came together to the scene of the food and cosmetic production facility of businessman Dao Huy Phong and Pham Thanh Thuy (FNC Food and Nutrition Development Consulting Company), to jointly research and apply Made in Vietnam 5S knowledge into practice, and jointly orient the implementation and application of the Made in Vietnam 5S method for their own business.
